A bit of background on my choice of a mixed breed puppy.
I searched for 3 years for a small
mixed breed puppy.
I wanted a puppy that would grow
into a small enough dog to have
in the house, yet be a hardy enough
dog to stay outside for short
periods of time, if need be.
I surfed through hundreds of info
sites on the many different breeds.
None of the purebreds completely
fit the bill, too big, too small, too furry
and so on. I decided that
a mix breed would be my best bet.
I read want ads and searched through
the petfinders & every place locally.
I just couldn't find the right
pup anywhere.
My husband met Penny's owners by
chance. The owners discussed
their 2 puppies, a boy and a girl
and they were mixed breeds.
They also offered my husband his
choice of the 2.
He discussed it with me and told
me the pups would be ready in 2 weeks.
Again I surfed the breeds reading
about the temperment and aspects of
each of the known mixes in the
pups. I was so pleased to discover
that within the genes of these
puppies was the possibility to have an
inside-outside dog, just like I
searched for all these years.
I decided on the female, and my
husband called and let her
owners know that we were interested
in giving her a home.
2 weeks later, they called and
Penny came home.
